[2008-02-02, Flora name, 植物名, Zhi wu ming, Nama flora(Introduction, 序言, Xu yan, Pendahuluan), (nswong)]

Some time, an article mention a plant that interest me, but when I do a Google search with the plant name as a key, it came out quite little result.
Over the time, I realise people use a lot of name to called a plant, and I need a way to find out which name of that plant can come out most result in Google search, so I start compiled this plant name list(Year 2005).
By now(2008-02-02), I do know structure of botanical name, but by the time I know it, my database already too huge to be justify of modify the data structure. So, this plant name list will not contain full botanical name detail(Name's author, Botanical variety, Botanical form, Hybrids...).
I use some program for import plants name from Internet to my plant name database, though some plant name with error I can detect with single glance, but due to I'm not able to write a program that work as my brain, so have to be rubbish in rubbish out. Fairly speaking, not all errors are origin from Internet sources, some errors are introduce by my program logic error when doing format conversion or global change. Lousy programmer!!! :-(
Anyways, my plant name database do save me a lot of time from searching in Internet.
I will upload the content of my plant name database part by part after I doing a manual quick fix on that part.
I'm not a botanish, but a computer guy. This plant name list are created for my personal agriculture research, but may help those who need it and not able to write program for data mining.
All data in this plant name list originally are from Internet, so the credit should go to Internet, not me.

Due to the file size limitation of the web hosting server, the plants name listing have to break to quite a fews of smaller size webpages. To combine these webpages to a single file included Chinese character:
Windows XP > Internet Explorer > Edit > Select All
Windows XP > Internet Explorer > Edit > Copy
Windows XP > start > All Programs > Accessories > WordPad > Edit > Paste
Windows XP > start > All Programs > Accessories > WordPad > File > Save As...
File name: Flora.rtf
Save as type: Rich Text Format(RTF)
Repeat procedure above to all the webpages you want to combine.

Ocimum sanctum: Ocimum tenuiflorum(11,700)
Ocimum sanctum: 羅勒, Luo le(My)(983)
Windows XP > Internet Explorer > Edit > Find(on This Page)... > Find what: Ocimum tenuiflorum
If searching "Ocimum tenuiflorum" not found in Chinese name list, search "Ocimum tenuiflorum" in Scientific name list to get name key value "Ocimum sanctum", and use this name key value to search in Chinese name list.

Ocimum sanctum: Ocimum sanctum(81,700)
Ocimum sanctum: Ocimum tenuiflorum(11,700)
Ocimum tenuiflorum L. = botanical name
Ocimum sanctum L. = botanical synonym
Ocimum tenuiflorum L. Google search result = 11,700 found
Ocimum sanctum L. Google search result = 81,700 found
I choose the name which can come out most result in Google search as my name key value. So, the key name in this list may not be the botanical name, it can be botanical synonym.
In this case, Ocimum sanctum become my name key value.

Duchesnea indica: Duchesnea indica(36,900)
Duchesnea indica: Duchesnea indic(4)
A webpage I read have wrong spelling(Duchesnea indic) in botanical name. I hope in future, reader of that webpage search with "Duchesnea indic", will found correct botanical name "Duchesnea indica" here.

Ocinnun basilicum: 驅蚊香草, Qu wen xiang cao
Ocimum basilicum: Ocinnun basilicum
Ocinnun are wrong spelling genus name of Ocimum.

Pereskia grandifolia: 七星針, Qi xing zhen(0)
Chinese in Malaysia called "Pereskia grandifolia" as "七星針, Qi xing zhen".
Google search result = 0 found.
I hope in future, when Chinese in Malaysia search with "七星針" as keyword, they can find the botanical name "Pereskia grandifolia" in this web page.

Genus speciesA: Genus speciesB
In some webpages, the photograph and description are belong to "Genus speciesA", but those webpages called it as "Genus speciesB".
